BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING

MINUTES – APRIL 10, 2002

A meeting of the Board of Directors was convened at Fairhill Elementary School, Fairfax, Virginia.

ATTENDANCE:
Kris Murthy          - President

CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order by Kris Murthy at 7:30 P.M.


COMMITTEE REPORTS

Newsletter:

Kris Murthy showed a copy of the “Special Newsletter” concerning parking issues and the yard sale.  The Board made comments and approved the newsletter with minor amendments.  The newsletter will be distributed shortly.

ARB:

Wendy Timm reported to the Board that Satkuna Mathur from CMC will be present at their meeting to provide training.
The inspection of the community will take place in mid-April.

MANAGEMENT REPORT

MATTERS FOR BOARD DECISION

Floral Rotations

Joe O’Brien MOTIONED and Sean Timm SECONDED to approve the proposal submitted by
Community Landscape to install floral rotations at the entrance feature for the summer and fall
seasons.  The cost of the installation will be $1,688.00 per rotation.  VOTE:  Unanimous

MATTERS FOR BOARD INFORMATION

March 2002 Financial Report
Sean Timm noted that the Association has a Certificate of Deposit scheduled to mature on May 18, 2002.  Mr. Timm also noted that the Operation Account has a balance of $21,319.90 as of March 25, 2002.  Jan Ward will provide investment options for the Board to consider at the next meeting.


Delinquency Status Report
Jan Ward reported that there is currently one delinquent account and that collection procedures are in place.


Miscellaneous Information
Jan Ward reported that the speed limit and children at play signs have been ordered and CMC’s casual labor will install them upon receipt.

Jan Ward also reported that Centex has informed her that they are in the process of completing the remaining items and moving towards the walk for bond release.

 
NEW BUSINESS

The date of the community yard sale will be Saturday, May 4th from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.  The Board will advertise the yard sale in the “Special Newsletter” and hang a sign out front.

The Board asked Jan Ward if Towing Signs could be obtained from the tow company.

Sean Timm noted that he would set up an email-mailing list for the board.

Kris Murthy noted that he would ask another resident to come to the next meeting to talk to the board about a web page for the community.
