MINUTES – JANUARY 23, 2002

A meeting of the Board of Directors was convened at Fairhill Elementary School, Fairfax, Virginia.

ATTENDANCE:

CALL TO ORDER
            The meeting was called to order at 7:40 P.M.



MANAGEMENT REPORT

MATTERS FOR BOARD DECISION

Election of Officer’s

Gene Chun nominated Kris Murthy for President.        VOTE: Unanimous
Sean Timm nominated Bill Perrelli for Vice President   VOTE: Unanimous
Joe O’Brien nominated Sean Timm for Treasurer        VOTE: Unanimous
Kris Murthy nominated Gene Chun for Secretary        VOTE: Unanimous

Jan Ward explained to the Board that the term of office for an Officer is for a period of one-year,
as stipulated in the Association’s Bylaws, Article XI, Section 3.

Appointment of ARB Members
Kris Murthy MOTIONED and Sean Timm SECONDED to appoint three new members to the Architectural Review Board.  Jan Ward will inform the new members.  the new members are as listed below:      VOTE: Unanimous

·    Vigdor Berstein
·    Moises Soto
·    Zohre Nayen


Draft Audit Report

Kris Murthy MOTIONED and Gene Chun SECONDED to table the decision concerning the proposal for an audit until the next board meeting.  VOTE:  Unanimous

Meeting Dates

Bill Perrelli MOTIONED and Sean Timm SECONDED to hold the Board meetings on the second Wednesday of each month @ 7:30 PM at Fairhill Elementary School.  VOTE: Unanimous


MATTERS FOR BOARD INFORMATION

December 2001 Financial Report
Jan Ward reported to the Board that at the end of December 2001 the Operating Account had a balance of $13,507.89.  The Association also has a Certificate of Deposit at ACACIA with a value of $15,464.27.  


Delinquency Status Report
Jan Ward reported that there is currently one delinquent account and that collection procedures are in place.


NEW BUSINESS

Newsletter Committee

Kris Murthy MOTIONED and Bill Perrelli SECONDED to appoint Juanita Oliver as the Chairperson of the Newsletter Committee.  VOTE:  Unanimous

Kris Murthy MOTIONED and Gene Chun SECONDED to appoint Balia Bierman and Wendy Timm to the Newsletter Committee.  VOTE:  Unanimous

Kris Murthy MOTIONED and Gene Chun SECONDED to have CMC produce the first quarterly Newsletter.  Distribution will be handled by the Newsletter Committee.  All articles will be sent to Ms. Oliver by February 6, 2002.  The Board will review the draft of the first edition at the next board meeting.  VOTE:  Unanimous

ARB

Kris Murthy requested that the ARB provide minutes of the monthly meeting to the Board of Directors.

Kris Murthy stated that he would draft a letter addressed to Centex concerning the condition of the street sign that is in need of repair.

The Board asked Jan Ward to obtain prices for Children At Play signs.

The traffic light at Saxon Flowers was discussed.



OPEN FORUM

Members present inquired about the problem with visitor parking, yard sales, and trash.  The board asked Jan Ward to contact the trash company concerning placement of the trashcans after they are emptied.
